La Quinta Country Club invites you to preview the Club for the season!

Not only has La Quinta Country Club recently made some wonderful changes and updates to their club, but they are now offering an incredibly easy and attractive opportunity to explore the club for a season. Read below for the details and call Kelly for more information!  (Contact info below.)

La Quinta Country Club

La Quinta Country Club

One of the most prestigious private country clubs in the Palm Springs area, La Quinta Country Club, located at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains, has a rich history stemming back to its founding year in 1959.  Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower arrived in his private helicopter to cut the ribbon and formally open the Club.  Hollywood stars and PGA players were drawn to this classic and traditional course.

La Quinta Country Club has hosted the Humana Challenge (formerly the Bob Hope Classic) for more than 45 years and will again host the event in 2013.  Their championship 18-hole course is impeccably maintained and its greens “are the best on tour”, according to Phil Mickelson, PGA Tour Player.

In 2006, it was decided that the clubhouse (fondly called “The Shack”) had suffered too much earthquake damage and would have to be rebuilt.  Three years later, the beautiful new 37,000 sq. foot Santa Barbara style clubhouse and outlying buildings were completed to the delight of the membership.  The Club is entirely Member owned.

The Members are drawn to La Quinta Country Club by golf but quickly fall in love for another reason, it feels like home.  They enjoy the cards, dining, dancing, social activities, golf tournaments, state-of-the-art workout facility and the many spa services available such as massage, nail and hair salons.

With a warm, friendly and very social membership, La Quinta Country Club is a desirable home away from home.

The Single Season Preview initiative:

La Quinta Country Club is offering a “single season preview initiative” for anybody interested in previewing this club’s full membership entitlements for a season (now through May 31st, 2013).  This is an incredible way to explore the club as the new member is only committed to one season and they pay reduced monthly dues and no initiation deposit!  It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore the many amenities at this club without a permanent financial investment.  Here are the details: You may elect to join the Club at any time during the 2012-2013 season; however, there is a pricing incentive should you join within the first 30 days of this preview initiative. Up Close At Mountain View Country Club, La Quinta

Our Golf Shorts blog is doing a series of interviews with golf clubs throughout the valley to offer an inside look at each club.  The first in this series is an interview with Christine Allen, the membership director for Mountain View Country Club.

TG: Hi Christine, thanks for joining us. Please give us some background on Mountain View Country Club:

Mountain View in La Quinta, CA is an exclusive community developed by Toll Brothers that has been serving members and residents since 2003. The community consists of 426 home sites (376 detached homes and 50 condos) that have been sold out since 2011, and a country club with a maximum capacity of 325 Full Equity Memberships. The Club is the ideal place for members to connect with old friends, or meet new ones to create lasting relationships as they enjoy a packed social calendar.

TG: Mountain View enjoys tremendous positive feedback from its membership and really anybody who has had the opportunity to play the course and explore the grounds.  Please describe the amenities included at the club:

Mountain View Country Club is known for its outdoor beauty, featuring a spectacular Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course with emerald green fairways and picturesque mountain views, as well as 4 hard tennis courts. Inside, the magnificent Clubhouse reflects the rich architectural heritage of the Spanish Colonial era for which La Quinta is renowned. The Clubhouse includes a pro shop and main dining room with exquisite cuisine prepared by the Club’s French chef. Depending on the season, the restaurant serves all 3 meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cantina, or bar, is a mid-day and late night hot spot for Members, always stocked with quality food and beverage offerings. The Spa and Fitness building, with a state-of-the-art fitness center, offers classes & private instruction based on preference and the latest fitness trends. In this building, there is also a tranquil spa and steam room, complete with locker facilities with card rooms, TVs and lounges to relax after a long day. The 66 feet long outdoor pool ranges in depth from 3-5 feet, and can be used for recreational as well as fitness purposes, such as doing laps.  There is also an outdoor hot tub, golf practice facility and a private room for booking special events.

TG: How busy is the club and what kind of events can members expect to see?

The club is always busy – with members in for dinner, to take classes and much more. The events are endless, with Ladies’ Guest Days, Wine Tastings, Super Bowl Tailgate Party and many more, that range from friendly to competitive. Mountain View also offers ‘Clubs within a Club,’ close-knit groups which are a personal way for Members to share their interests, commonalties and get together for a great time. Some of the Member Clubs include: Dog Lovers’ Club, Book Club, Men’s Poker Club and many more.

TG: Who can become a member and are there different membership levels available?

Anyone can become a Member of Mountain View Country Club, as we offer resident and non-resident memberships. Some of the different membership levels available include Equity Golf, Equity Non-Resident Golf and Social Memberships.

TG: How many of the 325 golf memberships are available?

We currently have 284 Golf Members and 163 Social Members.

TG: Are membership rights transferrable to guests or tenants? Please explain.

Yes, our Transfer Member Program allows tenants to enjoy the Club with the same status as the Member in which they are renting their home from. Therefore, if a tenant is renting the home of a Golf Member for four months or more, the tenant will receive all of the privileges of a Golf Member for a fee during the rental period. This same concept applies for guests as well. If a guest of a Social Member, for example, were visiting and coming to the Club, the guest, as long as they are accompanied by a Member, would receive all of the privileges that come with a Social Membership during their time visiting the Member.

TG: If people have further questions about the club, what is the best way to contact you for more information?
